Udith, Nathasha win Gold at Asian School Chess Championship

Udith Jayasundara of Nalanda College, Colombo and Nathasha Sanali of Dharmashoka College won gold medals at the sixth Asian Schools Chess Championships concluded in Colombo today.

 

Sri Lankan students did well to bag four silver medals and two bronze medals in the same tournament, held at Nagarodaya Hall, Colombo 10. However, Indian students collected five gold medals to lead the medal table.

Udith and Nathasha, contesting in the under 15 age group, guided Sri Lanka to claim five of the six medals on offer in boys and girls categories.
