Galle big match ends in drab draw

The 106^th Lovers Quarrel big match between Richmondand Mahinda concluded in a low scoring drab draw at the Galle Stadium. Mahinda after making Richmondstruggle on day one and bowling them out for a low score of 157 had to undergo the same fate themselves. Mahinda found the right arm spin combination of skipper Dhananjaya de Silva and Dileepa Priyadarshana too hot to handle.

Dhananjaya and Dileepa shared eight wickets between them as the duo made Mahinda struggle for their runs forcing them to make a declaration at 78 for 9. Dhananjaya ended with figures of 5 for 29 while Dileepa grabbed three. Richmondbatting the second time too found it difficult as they lost wickets at regular intervals before making a score of 30 for 5 declared. This left Mahinda an impossible target 110 runs from seven overs and they ended making 32 for no loss.
