Colombo BC thrash Carlton BC

Colombo Basketball Club thrashed Carlton Basketball Club by 62 points to 11 in their Carlton Cup basketball fixture at the Depot Police court last weekend. At half time Colombo BC held a slender 27 to 26 point lead.

P. Udumalaga top scored for Colombo BC with 21 points while R. Fernando added 15.

For Carlton BC, S. Senanayake 15 and M. Abeysekera 13 played best.

Navy win thriller over Police

Sri Lanka Navy pulled off a thrilling 77 to 76 point win over Police SC in their Carlton Cup basketball fixture at the Depot Police court last weekend.

At the short whistle, the Police were way ahead with 41 points to 25. However, in the second half of the game, Navy pulled out all the stops to pile on another 52 points to Police’s 35 to post a thrilling 77 to 76 point win.

C. Vijay 17 points, D. Perera and S. Jayaratne 15 each were the best shooters for the Navy.

For Police S. Muster with 16 points and A. Gunaratne 13 were on target.

In the under 13 Invitational All Island Schools tournament, S. Thomas’ College defeated Dharmasoka, Ambalangoda by 15 points to 11 in the first semi final. While T. Ellawela scored six points for S. Thomas’, C. Perera and S. Perera scored five points each for Dharmasoka
In the second semi final, Lyceum, Nugegoda had the better of Mahanama by 15 points to 13. While J. Corea was the best shooter for Lyceum. Nugegoda with six points, S. Uvindu was the best shooter for Mahanama with seven.
