Botheju and Somaratne to play in world snooker championship
Ryan Somaratne and Susantha Botheju left Sri Lanka to participate in the world snooker championship organized by the International Snooker and Billiard Association at Bangalore, India from November 28th to December 3rd. This year tournament will feature more than 100 players from 25 countries and the tournament will be played in 18 different groups from A to R. Botheju has been drawn into the 'H group and he has to negotiate with players from France, Japan, Finland, Russia, and America in the first round.
Botheju, who had won 14 national championships in Sri Lanka, is a player with immense international exposure. Ryan has faced four national championships and became the runners up in 2009. Ryan will be facing Russia, India, Netherlands in his first rounds in the 'P' group.
