Blue Star shocks Don Bosco

In another reverse of fortunes Blue Star scored two goals to one victory over Don Bosco in their match played at Negombo on Sunday.

Don Bosco playing minus the two Bandara brothers – Thilina and Nipuna who represented the country at the SAFF Championships did well to open scoring in the 15th minute through Thejan Fernando. But Blue Star fought back to equalise through A.W.M. Farzeen in the 26th minute. With this goal Farzeen became the highest goal scorer of the competition with eight to his name.

From here onwards it was a ding dong battle as both teams looked for the winner. However in the 79th minute another foreigner playing for the first time scored a superb goal to give the Kalutara side a great win.
