Nandimithra in a hard fought win against Java Lane

Nandimithra had to fight hard to secure a win over Java Lane by 3 goals to two in a Dialog Champion's League football match played at the Kelaniya Football Complex on Wednesday. Two quick goals in the final 20 minutes gave Nandimithra a well-deserved win in a keenly contested match.

Nandimithra opened scoring through P. N. Priyankara in the 28th minute of the game which gave his side one nil lead at the break.

Changing ends Java Lane played a better game and equaled the score as Nagoor Meera sent a floater into the net. Seven minutes later, under 17 Sri Lanka player, J. M. Zarwan put Java Lane in the lead. Incidentally this was his second goal in as many as matches.

Within a minute, the score sheet read two-all as Priyankara booted his second goal of the match.

With six minutes left of play, K. A. A. Jayashan shocked the Slave Island boys with a perfect goal to assure Nandimithra a great win.

    Its very pleasure to see and say J.M Zarwan’s skill set. Personally and as a player i knew him very well since he is my brother… He is a one of valuable resource for Sri lankan football if we utilize him correct manner….
