Kulisa Saranath Nanayakkara of St. Nicholas’ International School Negombo, primary section won gold, silver and bronze medals at the inter school chess tournaments in the under nine age group held recently.
Kulisa won a gold in the Inter Division Negombo District under eight age group and also obtained a silver in the under nine class of the National Chess Tournament in 2011.
In the Mora Kings International Chess Tournament 2011 in the under eight category he was declared the joint champion.
He was the under 9 chess champion winning gold in the Gampaha Chess Association Tournament Contesting in the Athugal Pura Chess International Tournament in the under eight age category Kulisa secured the bronze medal.
