Seetha Devi SC Kandy women’s team takes wing to Singapore
Led by Chaturika Wijesooriya Seetha Devi Sports Club, Kandy women’s team comprising of nine players accompanied by two officials will take wing to Singapore today (Thursday March 1) to take part in the 18th Singapore CC. International Hockey Sixes tournament 2012 for women to be played at Padanq Hockey ground in Singapore from Match 4 to 5.
This year’s tournament has attracted teams from eight countries – Australia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan and Malaysia.
The tournament is played for the Cup, Plate and Bowl championship trophies will be awarded to the winning teams and medals to runners-up of all categories of women’s competitions.
Seetha Devi Sports Club women’s team became runners-up in the Cup championship of the Singapore international Hockey Sixes held in 2010. They lost to Kuala Lampur hockey Club Malaysia 0-4 in the final.
