A last ball six by Madura Madusanka who made an unbeaten 39 in 27 balls with four boundaries and a six helped St. Benedict’s record a thrilling four wicket win over Prince of Wales in their pre-quarter final encounter of the Under 19 inter-school T20 tournament played at Kotahena yesterday.

St. Benedict’ after restricting the Cambrians to a score of 146 was given a sound start by openers Thilina Silva and skipper Jason Perera. Later St. Benedict’s needing 13 runs for victory off the last over was steered by the pinch hitting effort of Madusanka.

St. Benedict’s will face Trinity in the quarter final which is scheduled to be played at the CCC grounds today.

Prince of Wales 146 for 8 in 20 overs (Tharindu Dilshan 40, Crishane Aponso 30, Suchira Fernando 25, Shanuka Dulaj 22: Chandana Jayasanka 2 for 10, Jason Perera 2 for 16, Yohan Soysa 2 for 25, Dilan Anjelo 2 for 35)
