Junior paddlers leave for world championships

An eighteen member Junior Table Tennis team is due to leave the island to compete at the Junior World Table Tennis Championship to be held in Thailand from May 5 to May 9.
The junior paddlers are to compete in age groups under 12, 15, and 18. They will also take part in the Thai Open and the Cadet Open international Table Tennis Championships.
Former TT Star and Vice President of the SLTTA W.A. Buddhasiri will accompany the team as overall Manager and coach while Namal Gunesekera and Thushara Sampath serve as coaches for under 15 and 12 respectively. Ms. A.R. Pathirana is the lady Chaperon for the tour party.

Kurunegala), Prabhodana Rodrigo, (St. Anthony’s College, Kandy), Chinthana Ekanayake, Vidyartha College Kandy), Shihan Shanake, (Devananda MV Ambalangoda), Chamindu Tennekoon, D.U. Tennekoon (Dharmaraja College Kandy), Lithmina Mahanama, (Wesley College Colombo), Chathura Gunesekera (Sussex College, Kandy).
