Illegal entries for zonal Meets

Three athletes who were billed to participate at the forthcoming Zonal meet from P.de S. Kularatne Vidyalaya had been illegally listed by another school for the same meet. Principal of the Kularatne Vidyalaya has a lodged a complaint to the authorities over the matter.

 

It was revealed that another female athlete too has been listed by the same school. The two athletes were to run in the under 17 short distance event while the female athlete was to run for the short distance events. None of as these athletes have left school and collected their school leaving certificates up to now. on that grounds, this is totally illegal and necessary actions have been taken by the school according to the Principal of Kularatne Vidyalaya.

 

According to reliable sources, this had been a usual practice by this particular school for a long period of time which means we are to produce sports stars for them too. There were many instances where this school grabbed students for other sports such as Cricket Badminton and Swimming.

 

"This illegal act has brought down the standard of sports to very low ebb, said the Principal of Kularatne Vidyalaya"
