MCA F Division 30 over league tournament

Giant-killers, The Finance Co. PLC, along with HSBC “B”, Bodyline , Commercial Leasing Co. PLC, HNB”B” , Emerchemie NB, Dialog “B” & MAS Active “B” advanced to the quarter finals in the on going Third

D. Samson & Sons (Pvt) Ltd. / “Avi” Trophy, MCA “F” Division 30-overs League Tournament, all winning their pre-quarter finals, played over last week-end.

In one of the top half pre-quarter finals, The Finance Co. PLC scored an upset 18 runs win over the fancied, unbeaten E-wis, while from the bottom half, MAS Active “B” kept their unbeaten record in tact, beating Peoples Leasing Co. PLC by 05 wickets.

It was a disappointing end for unbeaten, Ceylinco Insurance, who got knocked out by HNB “B” on a technical point.

HNB “B” chasing a victory target of 180 runs in 30 overs was awarded 10 penalty runs, as Ceylinco fell short by one over at the time of cessation.

HNB “B” was 171 for 8 in 29 overs when the umpires called for time.

A notable all round performance by Amal Priyanga (85 not out in 67 balls inclusive of 16 fours & 4 for 30 in six overs) propelled Bodyline to a resounding 09 wickets win over debutants, Amana Takaful Insurance.
