Sri Lanka records second draw
Sri Lankahad to be satisfied with yet another draw in the AFC Under 22 Championship 2013qualifier soccer match this time against Pakistan in a Group B match played atRiyadh's Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium on Monday.
It isreported that Pakistan began the game in an aggressive mood as they dominatedpossession and forced as many as eight corners and five shots on target asagainst two corners and one shot on target by Sri Lanka in the first half. SriLankan defence was over-stretched in the 45 minutes but Pakistan failed to find thenet due to poor finishing.
The secondhalf saw Sri Lanka press Pakistan more as they had a few shots at goal and wona series of corners. But the Lankans never tested the opposing goalkeeper SaqibHanif.
The goallessdraw has put the Lankans in third place in the group with two points from twodraws. Sri Lanka previously drew one-all with Palestine on Saturday.
Syria andSaudi Arabia have grabbed six points each with two wins a piece but Syria istopping the table with a better goal average. Palestine and Pakistan are placedfourth and fifth respectively with one point each and Kyrgystan lies at thebottom with no point.
Sri Lankawill face Syria on Thursday.
