Veteran Dunstan joins Upcountry Lions
In a surprise move, debutants Upcountry Lions have contracted former Police, Kandy Sports Club and CR & FC prop forward Dunstan de Silva for the current inter club rugby season.
Dunstan de Silva now 42 years old and weighting 125 kilograms kept away from rugby for six years from 2004 before returning to the scene at the age of 40 for Havelock Sports Club and in 2011 for the red shirts and this year for the Upcountry Lions.
This means he has changed clubs thrice in three years and that too after reaching the age of 40 which is remarkable. Dunstan de Silva’s experience will be an asset for the debutants Upcountry Lions and despite his age, he could still last the full game.
