Sri Lanka fails to win a single match
Sri Lanka finished its AFC U-22 Championship 2013 qualifier without a single victory as it tasted another huge loss in the last encounter in Group B against Kyrgystan at King Fahd International Stadium, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. Kyrgystan won comfortably by five goals to nil against Sri Lanka to be placed third in the group behind Saudi Arabia and Syria who had already qualified to play in the final round to be played next year.
Vladimir Kazakbaev (8th minute), Kaiumzhan Sharipov (25th minute), Evgenii Doroginskii (45+2 minutes), Islam Shamshiev (54th minute) and Kaiumzhan Sharipov (61st minute) scored for Kyrgystan. Though the Lankans started off the tournament with creditable draws against Palestine and Pakistan they suffered humiliating defeats in the other three. The Sri Lanka team is expected to arrive today in the island.
