Maliyadeva overcome St. Anne’s

Maliyadeva College Kurunegala overcome their home rivals St. Anne’s College, Kurunegala by eight wickets in their all- island inter school under 15 division 1 cricket tournament match played at Kurunegala on Thursday.

Restricting their opponents to 107 in 36.1 overs, Maliyadeva made 109 for 2 in just 27.4 overs and gained an easy eight wicket win.

Electronic scoreboard for Maliyadeva

The newly built Electronic scoreboard of the Maliyadeva College Kurunegala will be opened on Sunday July 15 at 9.00 a.m. at the College ground.

Sri Lanka Test Cricketer and former Maliyadeva College all rounder Rangana Herath will be the guest of honour on this occasion. The newly built scoreboard will be opened by Y.G Thilakaratne the Principal of Maliyadeva College and Chandana Guruge the president of the Maliyadeva College Old Boys Association.

The scoreboard is donated by the 96 Group.of the Maliyadeva College Old Boys Association which costs 1.2 million. This is the first ever electronic score board installed in the North Western Province.

A friendly 20 overs match between College first X1 and the Old Boys Association XI has been organized to commemorate this occasion. The new scoreboard will be operated for the first time during this match.

Former Sri Lankan Cricketers Ranjith Madurasinghe, Eric Upashantha and Jeewantha Kulatunga will also be participate. All of them represented Maliyadeva College during their schooldays.
