Sri Lanka Army was awarded victory as the Sri Lanka Police SC team failed to turn up to resume the match from the 65th minute. The match was to resume at the City Football Complex on Friday.

As only the soldiers were present at the grounds for closed gate resumption, the Competition Committee of the FFSL met immediately and decided to award the match to Sri Lanka Army.

One of the officials from the FFSL said that Army was awarded a one-nil victory as it had scored a goal in the match that was abruptly brought to an end by the referee after 64 minutes of play due to some fans pelting stones at the referee.

However, it is understood that the Sri Lanka Police SC is not happy with the decision of the Competition Committee and they are seeking legal advice within their ranks.
