“As a Board, we are determined to tackle the challenges we face and to exploit the opportunities for the betterment of SLC. Mr. Lorgat is a seasoned administrator and I am excited that with his expertise we can work towards building a strong and sustainable future for SLC.”
Upali Dharmadasa – On the appointment of Haroon Lorgat as a Special Advisor to SLC

IPL 2013

Aiyo Dharme, what are you doing? Have you gone nuts to do things like this to waste our money ? It is a shame that you think that there are no qualified people in Srilanka to do this job. We have got wonderful people who had played cricket at various levels and who can handle any administrative work too. Think about people like Michael Thissera and cricket historian Mahinda Wijesinghe. There are many more if you really want to look. Get rid of this low mentality where you do not recognise the ingrown talent and experience.
It is really surprising to hear about this blatent wastage of our money by the SLC. Haven’t we got enough local talent pocessing enough local knowledge of cricket in srilanka to go with necessary administrative talents. No doubt the top officials of SLC lack both these requirements, but it is laughable to import foreigners to this job when there are enough good people here in srilanka with the necessary qualifications.
75% of the pay is for the Board official and 25% for the actual adviser??. This is dam shame for the Lankan Professionals. Cricket Board and officials were always corrupt, by importing these sort of officials Sri Lanka cricket will get bankrupt earlier than the due date.
