Matale Thomians register to victories
Matale Thomians recorded two wins in a row as they beat Ibbagamuwa Central by a massive 238 runs and Maliyadeva Model Kurunegala by 8 wickets in their SLSCA under 17 Division one inter school cricket fixtures played last week at the two venues Ibbagamuwa Central ground and St.Thomas’ College ground, Matale respectively

Electing to bat first St. Thomas piled up 321 for 7 in their allotted 50 overs with Ishara Kumarasiri making a top score of 84 inclusive of 8 fours and 3 sixes and Dulan Abeysekara scoring a half ton (54). Ibbagamuwa Central in reply were bundled out for 83 in 32 overs with S. Jayamanne taking 3/13 and L.B. Alahakoon 3/14, S.M. Wijekoon (19) was the only player to reach double figures for the losers.

D.P. Kumarasinghe with an unbeaten knock of 84 guided Matale Thomians to a 8 wicket win over Maliyadeva Model, Kurunegala in another match of the same tournament played at Matale.
Having restricted Maliyadeva Model’s total to 147, St. Thomas’ reached the target in the 24th over losing 2 wickets in the process.
