Crowds in Australia may find out this summer if the six-time Olympic sprint gold medallist decides to play some Twenty20 cricket with friend Shane Warne.

Bolt says he's interested in playing with Warne's Melbourne Stars in the Twenty20 Big Bash.

"He ( Warne) contacted me and asked me about if I am serious and if I really want to do it then he can put in a few words that should get it done," Bolt told Channel Nine.

"If I get the chance I will definitely try because I know it's going to be a lot of fun."

Bolt, who was a fast bowler as a youngster before concentrating on athletics, has made no secret about his passion for cricket.

"Twenty20, I love it. Just the fact that it is so exciting, it's about going hard the whole time, not just about playing shots," he said.

The Jamaican, who in London has repeated his Beijing heroics of winning the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m gold medals, says his cricket might be a bit rusty.

"I don't know how good I am. I will probably have to get a lot of practice in," he said.

Bolt also told Nine he was disappointed in comments from nine-time Olympic gold medallist Carl Lewis questioning Jamaica's doping control programme.

"WADA is doing an extremely good job in making sure that everybody is consistently tested, so for somebody to just get up and say something like that, especially an athlete that used to do the sport, is really, to me, disrespectful," Bolt said.

Now Mr. Bolt , please concentrate on one thing. Cricket is not the place for you these days my friend. Specially if Shane Warn is involved. Keep your name clean from drug issues . That is much more important for your future .
