Army face Navy in FA Cup final

Both teams who only came into the competition from the pre-quarter final stage having finished in the top eight last year – have had considerably easy routes to the final.

Navy beat Kalutara Park 4-0, Air Force SC 1-0 and then edged out Ratnam SC 1-0 to reach the finals. Meanwhile Army SC beat Pelicans SC 1-0, Police 1-0 (though a replay was called) before beating Renown SC 5-3, following a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation time, to make the finals.The winners of the tournament will receive a Rs. 70,000 cash prize whilst the runners-up will receive Rs. 50,000.
