Randhika leads confident Lankan outfit against Singapore
Trinity College second row forward Randhika Alwis will lead the Sri Lankan outfit against Singapore in their first game in the Junior Rugby Asiad Division II rugby tournament which will be worked off today at Havelock Park.
The first match of the evening will be between Malaysia and Chinese Taipei (3 pm) and the home team’s game at 4.30 pm.
This is a must-win game for the Lankans as they are looking forward to a promotion to next year’s Division I tournament. The winners of these encounters will play in the final next Saturday.
Japan, Korea and Hong Kong will play in the top division and the winner of division II will join them in 2013.
The exposure will be immense as the Junior Rugby World Tournament (JWRT) will be worked off in Hong Kong in 2014.
Sri Lanka will miss the service of Youth National Players Dhanushka Ranjan, Dulaj Per-
era and Trinity skipper Kaneel Seneviratne who are out from selections as they are nursing injuries in the currently concluded school league season.
