Sri Lanka’s top batsmen have slipped many places down the Reliance ICC Player Rankings list, due to their failure in the face of New Zealand pace bowlers.

Kumar Sangakkara, after losing his number-one spot to Australia captain Michael Clarke earlier this week, has slipped further after his double failure in Colombo. The left-hander, who scored zero and 16, has dropped two places to fourth position, while captain Mahela Jayawardene has slipped three places to 17th spot. Tillekeratne Dilshan has slid four places to 30th position, and opener N.T.Paranavitana has fallen three places to 46th

The only Sri Lanka batsman to move in the right direction in the table is Angelo Mathews, who has gained two places and is now in 26th position.

So, Sangakkaa has dropped down the line. Maybe that Jacqaline Fernandes going to be his nextdoor neighbor and all that is having an effect on him.

Sanga & Mahela involved in so much activities(distraction) out side the Cricket field. I guess lack of professionalism(as cricketers) from these two immensely talented cricketers. The decline of SL cricket in recent past due to many of SL players lack of proffessional approach to the game. You can tell the same thing on India’s cricket too.
